Well I finally finished my D3 and I have to be honest I'm actually very impressed with this car. I have some more work to do to get it 100% but its all just shimming out slop and getting it where I want it to be.

I do have one issue, I'm running the wide angle CVD's and I'm still getting chatter at full lock, what could be causing this? I took them both out cleaned and re greased them and they still seem to have a bit of binding which is not acceptable. My next idea is to take the set screws out of the rollers and use some heat shrink to keep the pins in so everything can move as free as possible, has anyone done this?

Also does anyone have have a decent starting setup?

right now its
Front:
Orange kit springs
2 hole
35wt

Rear:
White kit spring
3 hole
22.5wt

I really love the look on this D3! Where did you source the long pink sensor wire?

Awesome job bro!
Don't be a douche and help the next guy.
Thanks dude!

Its just the standard trakpower sensor wire and I put some pink braided loom on, really cleans it up.
The heatshrink idea is used by racers that cant afford to loose a grub screw Smile it will be great

Good job on the build

Do you have the one way installed? I had the same problem but when I installed the one way, it completely stopped the chatter.

Yeah I have the one way, the wide shafts and all that but it still chatters right before hitting full lock. So I'm going to remove the cvd's again, clean them 100% and file the slot open a little more and see if it helps.

If it doesnt ill just order a few roll pins and use the heatshrink method until I have a few spare $$ to order another set of wide angle shafts. Maybe my set is a dud set or something, certainly doesnt hurt to have spares.
Great looking D3!
Currently working on a RWD Sakura D3 Check out my --->build thread:^^:

I like the stealth body mounts you have. Can I ask where you got them?
Very nice looking D3 by the way! Looks like you have more steering than I do on mine. Did you do anything "extra" to achieve your steering angle? What is your toe setting?
hmmm. always wondered why the servo mounts were different. didnt realize it doubled as an antenna mount too. nice looking chassis. mine looks about the same. drove it for the first time last week and was really impressed. these things are awesome.
