I finally received my kit the other day, this is the first ever RC I've built and I made a couple of very novice mistakes, soon corrected them though and I am happy with the final outcome.
Now just waiting for my electrics to arrive and be installed.
Hope you like (Yes I know the shell needs changing, but it was nearly free and will do for practice!)

Now I'm just waiting for the electronics to turn up, it's my birthday tomorrow, so I was really hoping to get it out on my birthday, but if not I'm just going to bash the Mini 8ight lol!
One thing I would ask, rather than ordering one from China and it taking weeks to arrive, does anyone have a DIY mod to add a bit more tension to the long belt? It seems a little slack and bouncy to me... I also do plan on getting a new shell as this one is horrible, I actually like how it looks, but with all the wrongly spelled chav sponsors on it etc... It's only for bashing, same as the wheels, no doubt I'll be having a few crashes and don't want to ruin something nice and expensive lol.
Any tips/tricks/advice would be greatly appreciated Big Grin

A tip and advice for ya, Photobucket.com, upload the pictures and copy/paste their premade embedding code, super easy and makes viewing your pictures much easier. Other than that, I'm super jealous I'm looking into getting the D3 for my upgrade from shaft driven. Happy birthday as its 12:17am my time!

I've been using Photobucket since '08 lol, that's how they're uploaded.
I'm not sure why they went so big as every single image I upload is limited to 800x600 (or 600x800, can't remember which way round they do it) so not sure about the sizes.
And thanks man Smile I just wish it wasn't raining Sad
good build.. welcome to the world of owning a D3.. i own one and absolutely love mine.. but i have modified mine heavily.. not using any hop ups yet, but custom made and DIY mods that are very functional.. lots of people own D3's here and if you have any questions just ask man..

looks like the new D3 kits aren't as good a quality as the first ones like ours combat.
really why is that?? mine has held up.. other than shredding front belts it has been good.. hehe...

prolly coz it looks like brittle plastics. cool mod combat, though i dont think i would want to hack the cf on mine for that kind of set up. looks interesting though.
