MST MS01-D VIP2 Spec 6x6 Drift Truck

I thought now that i have finished my 6 wheel drive drift truck i would post some complete pictures and some video's i did last night from millennium raceway. Since i've never driven anything like this i wasn't sure what to expect but it actually drives almost the same as my mst ms01 vip apart from the ass end flicks around faster im guessing to the extra length and weight of the rear end.

I was also able to get some pics and vids of the me drifting with the other two 6 wheel trucks that go to millennium and had heaps of fun drifting with them.

To get this truck to where it is a had a fair bit of help from a few good friends.
Millenium Raceway who i bought the two ms01 vip 2's i needed for parts for the chassis and the electrics i used in this project. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=...ts&fref=ts
Mark Blackburn who made the carbon fibre top and bottom plates to suit the 6 wheel axel. https://www.facebook.com/blackyb10?fref=hovercard
Mark Worx who modded the Yokomo Racing Truck Body (ZR-RTHB) into what it is now which is based on gen 1 optimus prime.

Yeah way more detail then mine. The red one is a bruder brand toy truck cab and he has something special planned for it soon. He ordered one of those smoke machine things and will have it hooked up to the smoke stacks so the smoke will be coming out of them once he has the mod done. The black one you wouldn't believe is all hand made by the owner out of thin alloy plate all bent and smashed into shape. He did an amazing job on it thats for sure and looks way better in person.
Damn dude after those videos I want a Truck, wonderful job right there, and about the Macks maybe those are more realistic but at this point yours is more original, and it's not too real seeing trucks drifting, but "O.Prime" he can ;-)

Who says Yokomo?
YOKOMO DIB
YOKOMO
DRIFT PACKAGE
YOKOMO DRB
The main reason i went with the yokomo truck shell was partly to be original but also its made of polycarbonate so its really light compared to the plastic toy cabs which i like the look of but didn't like the idea of all that extra weight on a drift car. Soon as i saw it i knew straight away it had to be done up to look like gen 1 optimus prime and Mark Worx did an amazing job on it.
Wow awesome job! I want a 6x6 drift truck really bad now. I've been kicking around ideas on how to make it a simple tow truck. I saw a couple vids on youtube where a guy did something similar with a TT01 chassis, but his was a little more complicated than I would go. Love your work!
No worries at all mate. There's no reason you can't use any chassis to make a 6x6 wheel truck if your handy with tools. The hard part is making the top and bottom plate but 2 of my mates in that last picture made both theirs by hand and they turned out amazing by just using a dremel to cut them out. All they did was trace the existing carbon chassis plate onto some paper then move it back to draw the 2nd set of rear wheels then cut that new plate out of either alloy or carbon fibre. Once thats done there really nothing to it just get 2 of the same donor chassis for parts and screw it up to the new plates you cut out. About the only other thing you need to do is find a belt the right length to connect up to the 2 sets of rear wheels.
im 110% on board with this new trend
Yeah they are heaps of fun and really attract attention wherever they go. I have another mate with 2 more trucks one with virtually identical specs as mine but he went with a rwd setup so only the 4 rear wheel are driven and a trf based 6x6 wheel drive. Next time he comes down to the track I'll get a picture of all 5 trucks.
