antinnous' Yokomo DRB

Retired the DIB, and decided to use a DRB for 2013, with kits becoming more and more scarce, plenty of spares in hand, and as I would replace almost all the stock parts anyways, I decided to build my own from the ground up.

here we are at ground zero, 1st gen drb chassis, SSG. still thinking about a high traction/Team Bomber/OverDose chassis though....

first on the list was the turnbuckles since i had them in hand. I had original turnbuckles from my DIB, I didn't like the center and threads which looked SAE, so I bought some ZC-TB27's to replace them with

Parts are starting to pile up...

and here it is as of now, still waiting for some orders to arrive.

It's very expensive to build this way isn't it? I love where it's headed though.

I had a spare chassis and some chassis parts like this left over from 2 DRBs. looks almost complete right?
From this point.
It cost $340 to build up the rest of the parts. I could have bought another second hand one for that.
the bearings and shocks were $100 alone, pulleys, steering, hubs etc... I only just covered costs to sell it.

This is Kuni's chassis from MAX one. It would haunt my dreams, Full De-Anodized OD DRB! ,but I could never find a chassis plate for sale.

Ant and Rob...

Should we start the Silver DRB Club...?

Kuni's chassis is awesome! as well as yours Russ!

Yes! All the small pieces, shafts, collars, bearings, etc add up quick... I'm trying to set a budget of 300 for all the parts I'm missing, & so far I spent roughly 200. I have yet to buy a center bridge, and have to double check what else I'm missing.

Definitely need to pull some strings and get my hands on a TB or OD chassis...
