Body shell overview (updated with Matrixline) - Currently listing 256 shells
#1
Info
I don't know if this is useful for anyone, but I wanted to do this, so here's the idà ¨a: Make a compiled list of body shells available out there, sorted by:
  1. car brand
  2. then model
  3. then the available shells out there for that make and model
-Meant as a list of reference for people looking for that new body shell.

If anyone feels like adding shells or body shell brands to the list, please feel free to add them below and I'll update the "complete" list.

Brands finished (I think):
  • ABC Hobby
  • D-Like
  • HPI Racing
  • Matrixline
  • Pandora

Brands to go (in no particular order):
  • Kazawa
  • Speed Works
  • Speedway Pal
  • Spice
  • Street Jam
  • Surging
  • Tamiya
  • Tetsujin
  • Vaterra
  • Wrap-Up Next
  • Yokomo

Onto the (growing) list of cars:

HPI makes a Scion FR-S along with the tC. They also have (not sure if they still do) a Scion xB 1st gen. shell for their Switchback chassis, if that counts?

Also, HPI discontinued all of their Acura/Honda bodies. My guess is a licensing issue, because they sold well. Either way, HPI no longer makes Honda/Acura bodies and they are practically impossible to come by brand new/unpainted.

Maybe he could tag it behind the name as 'discontinued'

yeah, I think noting it somehow would be a good idea so people don't get their hopes up too high.

Many thanks for the feedback guys!

I will mark them as discontinued for now, and if keeping them on the list gets pointless due to the quantity of discontinued shells, I'll remove them.

Regarding the Scion xB 1st gen. for Switchback chassis, I excluded that and the other "True Ten" bodies from HPI as I was unsure of the relevance for my fellow drifters here. If anyone wishes to, I will gladly add them to the list. Please let me know.

The Evo 9 kit is on there too but it's not a car so I didn't list it.
A bodykit list would be great too.

Awesome, man, many thanks for the contribution! :)

We could make a body kit list seperately afterwards maybe, if that's something the good people would like.
