D-Like RB 86

The eagle stealth mounts that I ordered came in, and I got them on my D3 last night. I was finally able to get the body on the chassis and get a feel for what the overall look is going to be. Some gunmetal wheels might give a more sinister look, and I want to try them. There are lots of details to add still, but it is starting to come together. Sorry for the poor lighting in the pics.

Looks awesome!

I have this body on the way to me. What buckets from Yokomo did you use?

Thanks.

These are the buckets I used:

They do require a lot of trimming to fit well enough though. Pretty much the only option besides trying to use the ones that come with the body though.

Perfect, I have them laying around. I was going to use them in a Tamiya 86 but I never did.

So the body comes with buckets? I'm guessing they're just not as nice as the Yokomo ones?

They are vacuum formed, and don't have very much detail. Plus, you would have to make some tubes to put the LEDs in as well. Just seemed like a lot of work for less detail.

It's been a while, but I added some more detail to the RB 86. It got some 3D aerocatch hood pins from WUN, along with an intercooler to finish out the front end.

I also made some mufflers and exhaust tips from aluminum for out back.

Speedhunters put out an RC decal sheet, so I had to get those right away and add a few.

I also switched up to some MST G25 wheels in black chrome. I like the way they go with the carbon. They also highlight the fact that I need to get some brake disks...
