Okay cool. I went to check out some carpet but it's not cheap. I decided to give some thick felt a try.

I'm not good enough for lines yet but felt pulled tight feels the same as the hobby shop track I used a while ago that was carpet. It's also super cheap.

   

I'll be giving your layout a try once I gain some control with my D3.
