After drifting a couple hours this week, I busted five of my rims. Some of them were my priginal eagle racing (the ones that comes with the chassi) and a set or R2 hobbies.
Is is normal to break rims that fast or am I just playing too hard? I am currently looking to buy a set of aluminium rims to solve this problem but wanted to hear tips from you guys before going out and investing on pricey rims. Thank you!!

I've never broken a single wheel...and I've had a few decent smacks against a raised section if concrete. I'd say it's not normal to break wheels that frequent, especially when drifting when you're normally at much lower speeds than racers.
If you're doing something to damage and break plastic wheels that often, I wouldn't recommend aluminum wheels. They will be bent up and basically unusable and you'll be pissed you just spent $60 (or whatever you're going to pay) on a set of aluminum wheels you can't use anymore.
I know that R2hobbies' wheels are rubbish but I don't know anything about the EA's wheels.
I think aluminum wheels are a waste of money, just like wareagle said about it being bent and unusable. I have Spice gram light TE37 wheels and I've crashed it a couple of times recently, it is damdged but still runs like it used to be. If you're gonna buy wheels, I suggest you go for MST, yokomo, overdose wheels and those top Japanese brands
Thanks for the tips. I don't do anything crazy with my drifter to break the wheels. I didn't even hit a concrete wall. The only thing I hit is my friend's car, and at low speed.

I've never run anything other than HPI and MST wheels on my RC onroad/drift chassis and like I said, never broke a single one even after some sideways smacks in my drifter and had a few high speed flips even on my onroad with rubber tires.
R2 and Eagle must use cheap brittle plastic.
