Hey guys, I haven't been on this site in years!...not sure if anyone is still here!  ='(

Anyway, about 2-3 years ago I built a TA06-R chassis and its been sitting and collecting dust since then.  I want to finally put this thing to use! I was debating getting a Yokomo YD-2S chassis but I don't think I'm ready for RWD just yet....zero drifting experience.  I would prefer to learn with my TA06-R.  I was browsing through this site and found a few threads on the TA06, but they are from ages ago.  What I would like to know is, what parts should I upgrade on this chassis to make it suitable for drifting.  Also, I would love to CS this chassis.  I understand the concept of CS well but I have no idea of what specific parts I should get and where they can be found.

Here is a link to the chassis.  You can see all the optional parts it came with, I'm not sure what's good here and what isn't!

Here is the chassis as it sits right now:

  Many New to threads

I too am new to the idea of the drift rigs and would like to give it a shot! I've run everything from, Offroad carpet and dirt to sedan carpet and asphalt, pretty much everything under the sun.

I don't want to dump a ton of cash into a kit but also realise you get what you pay for when it comes to RC.  AWD or RWD doesn't matter which unless there is a massive difference between the two in handling if one happens to be easier than the other to tune?

Hobby King has this rig for a tempting price tag but is this rig utter trash?

I've looked at these two rigs from Yokomo

I've seen posted here the MST and the Sakura are good starting points with potential for upgrades.

3 Racing Sakura

That single shock in the front is definately interesting!!

Seems like all most all MST kits are backorder at this point same with Yokomo.

Team Associated

I know this one isn't specific to drift but would it be easily setup for it?

Now I have done a fair amount of reading on kits for MST, 3racing and Yokomo but not sure how comparable they are to each other. Id really like being able to buy upgrades here and there as I go so being able to have plenty of optional parts is a plus. I all ready have electronics so I'm good there just looking for some insight on which one anyone would say is good for starting out with.
I really don't want to spend 500 bucks on a kit for something I may not enjoy as much as I think I will. 250 ish to 300 price range I think I can live with as a loss if I don't like it.

Anyone out there with any opinions or insight would love to hear it!!

FXX/FSX Steering Rail Vs. Great Angle?
Posted by: DeadOnImpact - 01-30-2018, 08:48 AM - Forum: Max Speed Technology (MST) - No Replies

Hey guys,
My FXX-D S has served me well, but the amount of slop in the steering has been a constant annoyance for me. I've tried shimming it in various places but the slop just seems to come from everywhere. I've been looking around at upgrading the steering and came across the steering rail kit similar to the XXX-D's. I was wondering if anyone else had tried it out and could offer any advice on it?

What the bare minimum I need and nice extras too have. I'm not exactly on a tight budget but I'd like too have my first car around say $500 or 600$ dollars. If someone would like another way to contact me just let me know.

  Hello from Saskatchewan
Posted by: DeadOnImpact - 01-26-2018, 10:18 AM - Forum: Introductions - No Replies

Hello everyone!
Drifting is finally starting to catch on in my city, so I'm hoping to expand my knowledge to help more people around here get into it and enjoy it. I've been a lonely parking lot warrior for about 5 years, but now there is finally the beginnings of a track in the works. It's polished concrete and a lot different than the rough and rocky asphalt I'm used to, but I'm getting my cars dialed in to (hopefully) their new home. I run an MST FXX-D and XXX-D.

  Sakura D4: Update ii
Posted by: MrAkhtar86 - 01-24-2018, 02:04 PM - Forum: 3 Racing - No Replies

New year!! Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and had some time off.

Update on the D4:

I'm quite happy with how the rear is setup; good amount of forward and lateral traction but I would like a little more visual movement. I will also be looking to have a play with a ball diff setup.

The front however, I'm not too happy with it. The steering works great, good toe and Ackerman throughout but I'm thinking perhaps the geometry needs tweaking. Either that or I'm using the wrong springs; there seems to be some understeer.

Recent changes:
Overdose 5wt mineral oil
3Racing front spring (25 x 1.5)
Top L6, bottom 3

HPI 10wt oil
MST soft spring (32 x 1.2)
Top L1, bottom 1

Tweak on and keep drifting fun.

Hello, this is my first post but ive been 50/50 drifting before, i want to order a nice and cheap chassis kit for cs drifting and i saw the one pictured, to me it looks like a sakura d3 clone and i'd hope that is true so i can use their parts and hop ups too.

[Image: 1-10-Scale-Assembly-Red-Car-Frame-Kit-al...20x220.jpg]

The thing i really like is that its only 94 dollars and has a lot of aluminum parts on it, also the sakura is mostly pink but i like the blue better.

Hi, newbie to the drift scene. I have a hpi sprint 2 that I'm getting ready to run. Now I know it's not that good, but I don't have the money to get a new car so is there any hop ups for a different car that is compatible the the sprint 2 platform? I've seen the whole suspension kit on Asia tees, but is there anything else? Thanks for the help

FXX-D VIP SSG to FMX-D chassis conversion
Posted by: Readman - 01-08-2018, 03:49 AM - Forum: Max Speed Technology (MST) - Replies (2)

Hi guys,

I am fairly new to the drifting scene and recently bought an FXX-D VIP. At my local track there is a lot of people using Yokomo Yd2s and other rear or mid mounted motor chassis so I thought I would go with something a little different with the FXX with the front mounted motor. I instantly realised the car to be way slower as the weight is greater towards the front which means it’s very hard to keep up with others on the track.

I bought a rear battery mount which places a lot more weight over the rear end and then was told about the FMX conversion. My question is, has anyone used the existing FXX chassis but modified it to fit the mid motor mount? I can’t seem to find anything to give me dimensions so I can square the FMX and FXX chassis’s up against each other to see if the front and rear end holes all align. I do realise I do need the motor mount, drive shaft and upper deck but I don’t want to spend another £80+ on the FMX deck if I can modify my current one.

If anyone has done this modification or knows if it can be done it would be a bit help.

Can't bind hobbywing esc to mst ms-01d
Posted by: RC DRIFTER1738 - 01-03-2018, 01:17 AM - Forum: Help Section - Replies (6)

Hi guys,
As suggested by the people in the previous thread, I went to my local hobbystore and picked up a hobbywing 1060 esc. I asked the people there if they could take a look at my drift car and they didn't even know what mst is LOL. So I managed to connect the esc and everything, but I can't bind the transmitter to the esc. Whenever I use the transmitter, the car therefore doesn't move. I even looked at the instruction manual for both car and esc. The receiver gets power, esc is turned on but flashes and even the transmitter work. If someone knows anything about this problem, please help me.

Hey guys,

Just scooped up a Pandora RC 194MM body to start replicating my S13 coupe. What is everybody using for a chassis for these?

More importantly, I'm going to need a hood vent and roof wing for mine, as i'd like my RC to be as IDENTICAL as possible. What are you guys using for those?

Heres a few pictures of my coupe
