Yd2 or Yd2+(the one that comes with a gyro) - Blue_90 - 06-23-2017

Hi all! I am planning on getting my first rwd kit and I am debating on which kit should I get, is the yd2 plus worth the money? And does it really come with a gyro as is? Or getting an ordinary yd2 is more practical. And also a separate gyro with it. I am currently doing drift comps too :)

I've had 2 of the Yokomo gyros, first one couldn't reverse it out of the box so the only way it would work was to turn it upside down. The second one decided that it wouldn't talk to the radio after about 2 weeks. Traded it for a MST LSD v2 like it better about the same price point. Many of the guys at the track are running Onsinkis which are about $25 and are happy with them.

I have the plastic chassis YD-2, one of the guys at the track has a plus and was never happy with it, was always to fast for him. He got the standard one and is much happier with it.

It differs what people prefers in the market of Gyro's..

I drive with MST's 3.0 RS, in our club, one is using Yokomo's, one is using D-like, one is using MST 2.0 RS and so forth.

So it is more like trial and error, see what works for you, try and evolve your style and turn down the gyro gain to master RWD.

But if you are looking for a starter kit, the new MST RMX S 2.0 has just come out, great value and strong rigity plus carbon plate and shocktowers are soon coming, not that it needs it but mainly for looks.
