Considering a new Yokomo and the new YD4 looks promising. Only concern is what to do to convert to RWD? Anyone convert one yet?

I saw a RWD YD4 at my local shop/course so it can be done. I didn't examine it too closely. You could run it without the front differential built. Depending on the suspension pin diameter, you might be able to swap in Y-arms to increase steering angle.

If you search Kong Drift on Instagram he has a few pics up of his conversion. Not sure how it rides, I imagine it being front bias the rear end needs a little weight depending on the track and tires. Y arms should swap in fine, issue would be the c hubs but replacing those should not be to bad either. MST HT lower arms, KPi knuckles, done and done. Sorry, sounds simple but I have yet to wrench on one.

why not wait for the YD-2 to come out next month?
This project was initiated before the YD-2 was announced.
