So it been awhile since ive built anything , then the sakura d4 was released, and my awesome girlfriend ordered me one, of course the guys from RCMart are awesome to have the chassis on sell with free shipping, anyways i got my d4 and went to work building, its a great chassis for the price. I am currently gonna be running HPI electronics in it till i get the money for upgrades, and most of my time will be going into working on opening a hobby shop/drift track here in Houston,TX. hopefully that goes as planned, anyways on to the car, when i get a chance outside shots coming

Thanks, I still can't understand why nobody has made a proper scale carbon sticker?

i think the carpet tape gives it a decent scale carbon look, mine didnt sit right on the hood
Nice! I think you could've taken a bit more care that there aren't such big gaps between the strips of tape. I really dig the way you gave it a red dyed look though - awesome!!

I think WUN did, didn't they? Still, a sticker will always look like a sticker if you look at the edges. With this method you can get whatever parts you use it on to look like the part is really made of carbon fibre.

Hey Ghost,

Great results on the Sub.. sad the carbon tape wasn't that close, but then again, i remember it to be a pain in the ass..

I did a similar build, sprayed the car color first and afterwards did the carbon job.

The steps:

1 coat - Window tint (sadly it has a brown effect to it).

Carbon tape closely to the edge's.

1-2 coat's of Silver (PS-12)
------
But i'll next time try are do Carbon with either Black or Gun metal since my Nissan is already Gun metal so the carbon doesn't "pop" that much..

Idk if you have seen this "tutorial" but the guy uses Black and the tint is from Pactra, but Pactra is slowly becoming unavailable so i couldn't find the correct can, so tried Tamiya's.

It's a shame you can't get a wider tape to lose the joining lines

I've only been able to find the rolls in 5cm wide and 5 meter long, but trust me, that is also was most people say, the lines..
