SETUP HELP! So i have an rmx s 2.0, built, all stock setup and it works really great on a wooden surface. Smooth control, nice drifts. Now I'm taking out onto asphalt as I don't have a track very near. Struggling to get the speed/consistency. I've tightened the diff screw so the wheels actually spin when I put on power now, but too much throttle and the wheels spin too fast, no grip and I drift really slowly, too little and the tyres grip too much and I can't drift. Any setup ideas? This is mst gold in the fronts, purple-red in the rear and mineral oil 15wt all around. Low cg motor mount and D like tyres I was recommended, I do t know the compound it's in japanese! Thanks!

Hey peeps. I have a Eagle TT02 RWD chassis enroute' and have a couple of questions for any other TT02 RWD owners out there

1. Battery postition, has anyone played round with saddle packs? and stick pack position, longitudinal or horizontal?

2. What is the deal with the spur gear size? I see it is 48p but what sort of spur gear is used? Going by the pictures on the web the spur looks quite wide in comparison to touring car spurs which are quite narrow traditionally

3. Can standard size servos fit in the dock or only low profile servo's?

Any light shed on these questions is much appreciated

Reading from the forums, the main consensus I get is not to diff your rwd.

after MST rmx-s launch, I find that ball diffs are standard out of the box. Testing the car, feels very responsive and smooth in a drift.

Compared to my solid rear, which seems slightly less stable during drifts.

I decided to diff my team magic e4d. I find that it(handling wise) has slightly improved. IMO, I say diff the rear.

What do you all think? What's your experience on this ?
hey guys, im working on my first dedicated rc drift chassis. I know its not ideal but i have an hpi rs4 sport 3. Ive converted to rwd and achieved some impressive steering angle with the stock lcas. Im running mst soft tires front and rear with the stock weight bias which seems to be about 45f 55r. Ive been messing with spring rates and right now i have pretty stiff springs in front and soft 1.2 springs in the rear with no droop.

The issue im having is whenever im mid drift and trying to slow down, it will spin out uncontrollably. It will hold a nice drift if i maintain speed or speed up, but as soon as i start to let off the throttle it spins out. I dont know where to start. Im not sure if i need to try a different weight bias, change my droop settings, spring rates or what. Ive heard conflicting info on what is better as far as rear or front weight but im starting to think i need like 60f 40r to control this lift oversteer.

Hi guys
In this tread i would like to show my D3 RWD build.
i started it about month ago, and i think its now finished. The reason why i change it to RWD was after last ride, when i realized, that CS is rather boring, and i give a challange to myself - build something from scrap (thats why i used D3, instead of buing D4).

First i mount MST arms

2nd mod - steering.
Simple, but not simple. When i biuld it on first time, i realized that 3Racing alloy steering system is enought for max steer angle. But it was locking. So i add carbon extensions (self made), and then it started to work fine. Then i add one more adjuster in the middle, so i can adjust Ackerman and toe.

The big problem for me was the steering angle. Tire was hitting the shock. But, MST arms are cool, and i add some spacers into it, put FR-F tire, and that problem was solved.
Then i make uppers using a Tamiya adjusters (they havent any play, so everything is thick)

Thats how it looks on front

After some settings, i ended up, with almost 90 degree angle

First run was rather good, nothing has broke, and come off, i even took one courner well (without gyro, im still wainting for it). Ive started to learning driving without gyro, but even if i can "drift", or rather sliding in my friend's BMW, this is almost impossible for me lol
So, now i get to work on body for it. It will be in another post, i think in WIP section

Comment, tell me some advice, what should i change. Its my very first RWD chassis, and im new in this, so i dont know everything. It hink that my modss are done well, and my cute, Pinky D3 will fly on track :xD:
Keep drifting fun :^^:

Hey guys, I have been converting my team magic e4d. To rwd but I am stuck with something. It seems that in order to have decent lock I have to have my toe arms really short (a lot of toe out) so when I try and adjust the Ackerman it is way out, what can I do to get everything nice and even? I currently only have standard hubs and will be buying kpi ones soon

Hey guys, bit the bullet yesterday and ordered an mst fmx-d lastnight, futaba 3003 servo and a speed passion reventon r/speed passion competition drfit 8.5T. I have a spectrum radio system I'll throw in it, but need opinions on a good budget gyro and a quality body for a reasonable price, I really like the look of pandora shells but am afraid they wont fit, preferably a 4 door skyline, or silvia s13/s14/s15. I'd like to keep the gyro/body purchase under 75 as I have spent more than I'd like to admit already ha-ha, I've been bit by the bug and need something to scratch.

Hi this is my pro d spec r that i've held onto since brand new costing $700 aud back in the day :=o:
Heres i'm at with it. Still very much a rwd noob so interested in any sound advice to help with development.

Parts i already have-
Hpi pro d spec r
Novak Havoc sensored 8.5T combo
Bluebird BMS-630 MG (do't think it will be quick enough?)
Overdose work cr-kai +9 (i think) set
Medium density tyres of some description

Parts on order-
MST KPI knuckles
MST HT lower arms
MST 5.8 ball adjuster links x4

Currently Looking for cheap plastic or alloy upper arms that are nicer than what MST offer. Planning to space rear toe block for more traction.
Looking For good value gyro??

Need to start looking rack options and if shocks can be rebuilt into something suitable. Not sure really what i'm looking for here other than trying to keep low budget. Front end parts ordered owe me about $50 aud currently.

so i have a redcat that i converted RWD, cut things, moved things and got rid of things, now i need to buy things lol. my problem is there's alot of play in the front suspension from the ball joint connections all the way to the wheel hub, so need to figure out if its the specific parts(upper arm, lower arm, steering hub) or is it the material (plastic or aluminum) because I am going to order plastic MST ht lower (y) arm, Yokomo upper (A) arm and usukani RWD steering hub (I know there not plastic) but is the plastic plays a big factor, i was going to go with all usukani parts (just in-case this redcat scrap doesn't workout, i can just buy a D4 and swap over the parts), so what do you guys think? And BTW, i need a little extender for my steering arms, any suggestions?

the redcat chassis closely follows the yokomo basic drift package, just for reference.
